Sharing the discoveries that I make wether big or small.

Bedtime Story by Robert J. Wiersema

The story, of a young peasant boy who is plucked from his home by castle guards and sent on a quest for a mysterious Sunstone, makes David feel like he is right there, in the action.

Amazing book! I highly recommend! I have been staying up way to late at night reading it.

Treat your delightful ears to these amazing tunes.

A friend of mine from Bible school in England with his amazing beard.
thegoodbeard:

This is Ben.
Ben is the lead singer and primary songwriter of the band, Bison.
Bison came and played their stellar music at JMU last Wednesday and I fortunately was able to talk to Ben for a while and learned a lot about him, his beard, and Bison!
Growing a great beard takes time and patience, and Ben has been growing his since October of 2009. He said that it grows slowly and is very curly.
Ben keeps bees and he said that one time when he was going out to check on them, one of those little demons snuck under his bee mask and got tangled in that curly beard of his! The bee stung him in the lip, which caused it to swell up to one-and-a-half times the size of his thumb!!! Beards and bees don’t seem to mix…
If you are unfamiliar with the Bison and their music, they are a seven membered, folky band out of Chesapeake, Virginia (close to my hometown!!) employing instruments such as guitar, cello, mandolin, violin, melodica, keyboard, and drums just to name a few. One interesting thing that they shared with the audience the other night is that all of their instruments are tuned to the organ because it is in such a special tuning! When asked about the band Ben said, “When it came time to find a vessel for the music, the people I already knew and loved where right there.”
Bison’s music sounds similar to that of The Avett Brothers, Fleet Foxes, and Mumford and Sons. I have said before that The Avetts are my favorite band, but Bison you have surely captured my heart. I can’t wait to see what you guys do next! Go beards!!

Jason Russell is my friend. i reached out to him a few years ago, as TWLOHA was starting to take off. i was a fan of Invisible Children and it seemed we could learn a lot from them, and i could learn a lot from him. Like IC, TWLOHA was born from a story and the surprising response to that…
